The CDC of course as always contradicts itself by stating that MMR still contains thimerosal . In this page the CDC says Thimorosal is not used <http://www.cdc.gov/od/science/iso/concerns/thimerosal.htm&gt; on March 11, 2008, and in this page it says it is used

If a child accidentally was exposed to mercury there would be a huge concern, but we inject our kids every day,and never think twice. We are just taught not to question our doctors, and always to accept the social norm. Vaccines may work, but at what cost? Even though they work most of the time sometimes they do not, and its important to be aware that no vaccine can guarantee immunity (so even if you decide to vaccinate it is important to be aware of all of the diseases anyway).

It is also important to realize that even though vaccine reactions are supposedly minute they still do happen, and that is whyy VAERS exist today. Some children are permanently damaged from vaccines. If you do vaccinate, and your child has a reaction make sure your doctor reports it.

No matter what side you are on in the end on this issue it is important that you take the time to read, and to learn more about the risk vs. the benefits. Anything that you learn to help you make a wise choice is worth all of the reading, and the research.

Nobody can tell you how your child will react because of a vaccine. Just because their children are fine does not mean yours will be, and visa versa. There is always a potential for harm, or benefit.

ETA: I disagree with the previous poster who said adverse reactions are not as bad as the diseases. Not all of the disease we vaccinate for are lethal, but for some children vaccines have a potential to harm, or to be lethal. You can read any of the inserts and read that any medication runs the risk of serious adverse reactions. I don’t buy into that it’s work the reaction statement at all, because to that one child who is injured for life it is not worth the reaction.

You know, he is your son you make this choices for him. It is up to you when you should want to vaccinate him but you do at some point. It would be unhealthy if you didn’t. Talk to his Pediatrician about what he will be getting and what it prevents and what it courses; this way you feel better of why you should or shouldn’t
Vaccinate him.
