Autism awareness ribbon. The puzzle pattern re...

Image via Wikipedia

Autism is a symptom in which the autistic person withdraw himself/herself into their own world. Family members and others may help by joining in their world, and then pull them out. This article suggests three ways you can help cure autism now.

First. IMMITATE WHAT THEY DO. Autistic children often have repetitive actions such as waving their hands, jumping up and down, turning on and off something. They find these actions interesting and always wonder why other people stop them from doing it. So you should imitate their actions, and they will see that you “understand” their mind, their actions. It is suggested that you should “do the same” like this for up to 15 minutes or longer.

Second.  LOOK INTO THEIR EYES.  Children with autism often avoid looking into your eyes. This is partly because they have short attention span, or they may think there is nothing interesting about looking at someone.  In order for them to look at you, you should try to look into their eyes first. This can be done by joining in with them or doing something interesting and lowering yourself physically so that your eyes are at the same height as theirs. At the beginning, this kind of eye contact may last for one or two seconds only. But the more you do like this, the longer they will look back into your eyes.

Third. REPEAT WHAT THEY SAY. One of the flaws with autistic children is their inabilities to communicate. Many of them often produce sounds or groups of words which have no meaning at all. Many parents and even teachers forcibly stop them uttering these sounds or words. But in order to make them say what you want to, you need to say what they say first. Once you are “on the same boat” with them, they will open their hearts, minds and mouth for you.

In short three ways to join in with autistic children would be: DO WHAT THEY DO, LOOK INTO THEIR EYES and  SAY WHAT THEY SAY. I hope these ways can partly help you be inside your children’s head, and if you can build a path into their mind, you can certainly have a part to cure autism now. Good luck.

You have to be gently-forceful expanding the game otherwise you are doing the same non effective connection.

At every play connection you want to fine-tune it making it better a little bit.
